Quick conversion to Russian sizes

Women's clothing: US + 38 = RU (US 4 → RU 42). Men's: US + 10 = RU (US 40 → RU 50). Women's EU size is US + 32.

The minus-one rule for letter sizes

US S, M and L run big. If you wear M, go for S, especially at mass-market brands like Gap or Old Navy.

Height matters too: P, T and other letters

P or WP (petite) is for women up to 160 cm, T or WT (tall) from 174 cm. In men's pants S, R and L mean short, regular and long length.

How to measure

Three measurements that decide everything

Measure over your underwear with the tape snug against the body but not tight. For kids' clothing, height and weight are enough.

Chest

Around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Waist

Around the narrowest part, usually just above the navel. Don't pull your stomach in.
3

Hips

Around the fullest part of your hips and seat, feet together.
4

Inseam

From the crotch to the floor along the inside of the leg. That's the L in a jeans size.
5

Foot length

Stand on a sheet of paper, trace your foot and measure from the heel to the tip of the big toe.
